Sub: Problems facing by the staff in accepting  of withdrawal of Legal Tender

        Character of existing Rs500/- and Rs1,000/-  Bank notes-Reg

Ref:-This Union lr.No.Union/SB dlgs dated 09.11.2016.

          Kindly refer letter cited under reference and Fake currency detecting machines were   not supplied till date. Huge volume of cash transactions are being occurred in almost all the Post offices. Due to non availability of Fake currency detecting machines it came to the notice of this union that Rs.17,650/- worth fake notes were received and the same has been made good by the concerned officials from their pockets. The same will repeat   up to 30.12.2016 and even there after also. There is  clear instructions from CO/RO, that Fake currency detecting cum counting machines may be supplied to all offices. But till date no machines were supplied. Hence  Fake currency detecting cum counting machines may be supplied immediately for the all Urban SOs to which machines not supplied earlier.

No police security provided  at any offices. Police protection may be provided immediately as huge cash is being collecting by each and every office. 

No proper arrangements were made for cash conveyance from Sub Post offices to HO/ Cash offices. SPMs working in Rural areas are facing much problems in retaining/ conveyance of huge cash beyond their authorized limits. If any thing happens then our staff will be victimized. Authorised balances and line limits will be deciding factors. Nothing will be considered  at that time.

 Therefore keeping in view of the circumstances explained above, it is requested to look in to the matter and do the needful and not to penalized  the staff for discharging their duties genuinely and honestly as the above checking is practically not possible by them. It may also please be ensured to supply the cash counting mechines and Fack note detectors and protection to safe gaurd the staff.
